The Palm of Your Hand
Painters that walk around with their drawing pads or watercolours are cool. But, one could easily carry around an artwork in a briefcase or wallet or handbag or, if you are really brave, in a pocket. For the travellers and nomads, home and remnants of one’s life can fit on a person. Why not a painting? Just frame it, though — It’s still fragile.
Alternatively, having a small apartment always puts a hold on one’s ability to buy art, exhibit it, and appreciate it. Living out of a suitcase is one thing, but producing out of one has just as many complications; I had to tune down the scale to accommodate for low baggage allowances and restricted liquids in airports. There are also lots of surfaces to paint on that can be found on the road. All one needs to do is pick them up and take them home, held in The Palm of Your Hand.
