Cover Me

Beginning on old book covers, small-scale paintings fill the blank space left by fabric usually hidden by dust jacket. There is a hidden beauty behind every book, and a hidden image that covers every hardback. These secrets can be left as block colours, patterns or lightly pressed insignias, all of it squeezed into a bookshelf or draped by paper on your coffee table. The book covers and the internal components of each novel, magazine and catalogue are meant to be read (or at least seen). This series highlights the value of such physical materials as they plead to be purchased and, sooner or later, collect dust in a box. At least these works can coexist with the home, even if they are only observed at a glance.
